Registered agent

What does a registered agent actually do?

A registered agent is the person or company designated to receive service of process and official state correspondence for your business at a Wyoming address. Wyoming requires every business entity to maintain one. MAC Enterprise Registered Agent Services Inc. is a Wyoming Commercial Registered Agent.

How much is registered agent service?

$64.99 a year per company. It is also included in both Wyoming packages.

Can MAC be my registered agent if I didn't form my company with MAC?

Yes. You can appoint MAC as the registered agent for an existing Wyoming LLC or corporation, or for an out-of-state company registered to do business in Wyoming. The price is the same either way.

How do I switch my registered agent to MAC?

We prepare the Wyoming Appointment of New Registered Agent and Office filing for you to sign. The state's fee is $5. Once it is accepted, MAC is your agent of record. See how switching works.

How will I know when a notice arrives?

Legal notices and state correspondence are posted to your secure online account and we let you know they are there.

Packages and annual reports

What is included in the Wyoming Business Package?

For $450 a year for one company: registered agent, your annual report filed with the $60 state fee included, a commercial lease with your own suite number, Mail Basic handling and compliance reminders.

What is included in the Legacy Wyoming Package?

For $950 a year: everything in the Business Package for three companies, including three registered agent services, three annual reports with state fees, three commercial leases with their own suites and three Mail Basic mailboxes.

Are state fees really included?

Yes. Packages include Wyoming's $60 minimum annual report fee per company. If your company's fee is higher because of its Wyoming assets, you pay only the difference.

When is my Wyoming annual report due?

On the first day of the month your company was formed, every year. Use our annual report calculator to find your date and estimated fee.

What happens if an annual report is filed late?

The company is marked delinquent on the second day of the month after its due date. If the report isn't filed within 60 days of the due date, the state administratively dissolves the company.

Suite address and commercial lease

What is the difference between my registered agent address and my suite address?

Your registered agent address is the public address on file with the Secretary of State, shared by every company we represent, for lawsuits and state notices. Your suite address belongs to your company alone under a commercial lease and is the address you give your bank, the IRS, vendors and credit applications.

Is a commercial lease the same as a virtual office?

No. A mail plan gives you a Wyoming mailing address and mail handling. A commercial lease documents your company's contractual right to use commercial space. Our packages include both.

Does a Wyoming lease change where my company pays taxes?

Not by itself. A lease does not guarantee a particular tax treatment and does not remove another state's tax or registration requirements. Those depend on where and how your company actually does business. Talk with your tax professional about your situation.

Mail plans

Is mail handling included with registered agent service alone?

Registered agent service covers state and legal notices only. To receive business mail like bank cards and statements, add a mail plan or choose a package.

What is USPS Form 1583?

USPS requires Form 1583 before a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency can receive mail for your company. It verifies your identity and authorizes us to receive, open and scan your mail. Each company needs its own form.

Do I need a separate mail plan for each company?

Yes. Each company has its own mailbox and its own Form 1583. The Legacy Package includes a mailbox for all three companies.

Is postage included?

No. Postage is billed at cost on every forward.

Can you receive packages?

No. We accept postcards, letters and large envelopes up to 0.75 inches thick. Packages, boxes, rigid mailers and oversized items aren't accepted.

Do you deposit checks?

No. Checks, bank cards and original signed documents are forwarded to you, not scanned. We don't deposit checks or act on your mail.

Do you store mail?

No. Please forward or shred each item after it is scanned.

Billing

How does renewal work?

Packages, registered agent service, leases and annual mail plans renew each year. Monthly mail plans renew each month. We remind you before a yearly renewal, and you can cancel before it renews. See our Terms of Service.

Can I upgrade my mail plan later?

Yes. Upgrade any company to Mail Plus or Mail Pro at any time and pay only the difference.

Is there a two-company package?

No. The Business Package covers one company and the Legacy Package covers three. For two companies, choose two Business Packages.
